Sankofa Talks is a blog dedicated to truth, repair, and restoration.
It was created to challenge the lie that Black history began with
slavery and to reconnect the African diaspora to the real beginning:
before the chains.
This is a space where we reclaim our narrative, center our own
scholars, and explore how the destruction of Africa’s wealth, land,
and leadership continues to affect Black people globally today.
We follow the principle of Sankofa — “go back and get it” — not as
nostalgia, but as a strategy for building the future. From the Nile to
now, this is about restoration, not remembrance alone.
